How can we develop a shared vision for the future of PfeifferVacuum's role following its integration into the Busch Group through 2035?

We developed a new vision and positioning for PfeifferVacuum in Aßlar to define its future role within the Busch Group. Through extensive in-depth interviews with executives, a detailed analysis, and a collaborative synthesis of the findings with the entire Pfeiffer Board of Directors and Busch management, we were able to identify the key areas of tension: From a technological self-image and high customer expectations to uncertainties regarding identity, decision-making structures, and organizational direction.  Based on this, we developed a clear Vision 2035, an operational mission, and initial leadership principles that provide guidance for performance, collaboration, and accountability. A vision for the future with clear implications for leadership, communication, and implementation.

Collaborating on this project was an important step for us in the further development of the Aßlar site. It was particularly valuable that we succeeded in creating a shared space for ideas and developing a common understanding of Aßlar’s positioning. It is worth noting that this was the first time the Group and the site had worked together in this manner on such fundamental issues. This not only provided clarity on the content but also created an important cultural momentum that will sustainably support the site’s further development. The collaboration was characterized by strategic depth, a high level of professionalism, and a keen sense of how to bridge the gap between organizational reality and cultural change.
